Tall Paul

Tall Paul

It started as a dream, a vision where Indigenous artists could support and uplift our communities from youth to elders and that we could support and uplift each other. It’s been a long, beautiful, heartful journey starting in 2015, raising awareness about MMIW in North Dakota with an earring exhibit. It began on a rooftop with prayers asking for guidance on what this could all be. It continued to spread like smudge, filling the air, expanding to fill all the spaces that needed it. Since then, we’ve toured across Turtle Island with support from the First Peoples Fund, the Reva & David Logan Foundation, KSUT Tribal Radio, Sustainable Arts Foundation, and many other heartworkers, educators, and changemakers throughout Indian Country. During that time, we provided workshops and performances for hundreds of Native youth. Dream Warriors continues to make moves today, starting with officially becoming a nonprofit under artist Tall Paul Hip Hop I’m so proud of all he’s doing to continue building this space where our youth can radically dream all their wildest, most beautiful dreams and be warriors for those dreams and their communities. That is what Dream Warriors is about being a warrior for your people and your dreams. Fight for what you deserve, and never stop believing your dreams are worth pursuing.

SUMÉ

SUMÉ

From 1973 to 1976, the Greenlandic rock band SUMÉ – The Sound of a Revolution released three albums and changed the history of Greenland. The group’s political songs were the first to be recorded in the Greenlandic language—a language that prior to Sumé didn’t have words for revolution or oppression. After 250 years of Danish colonization, Sumé set in motion a revival of Greenlandic culture and identity, and paved the way for a Greenlandic home rule government.
